Mount Wudang (simplified: 武当山, traditional: 武當山, pinyin: Wǔdāng Shān, jyutping: mou5 dong1 saan1) is a sacred Daoist mountain range in Hubei Province. In The Heavenly Sword and the Dragon Sabre, it serves as the base of the Wudang Order, founded by Zhang Sanfeng.
In the novel
After Jueyuan’s death, Zhang Junbao travelled alone to Mount Wudang, studied the Nine Yang Power taught by Jueyuan, and eventually founded the Wudang Order under the name Zhang Sanfeng. The Seven Xias of Wudang trained on the mountain, and Yu Daiyan was attacked at the foot of Mount Wudang when the Dragon Gate Armed Escort attempted to deliver him from Lin’an. Gang Xiang of the Vajra School infiltrated the mountain disguised as a Shaolin monk to assassinate Zhang Sanfeng.
