Mount Emei (simplified: 峨眉山, traditional: 峨眉山, pinyin: Éméi Shān, jyutping: ngo4 mei4 saan1) is a sacred Buddhist mountain in Sichuan Province and one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China. In The Heavenly Sword and the Dragon Sabre, it serves as the base of the Emei Order, founded by Guo Xiang.
In the novel
Guo Xiang, the youngest daughter of Guo Jing and Huang Rong, founded the Emei Order on Mount Emei after parting with Zhang Sanfeng. The Order combined Buddhist philosophy with martial arts training and developed techniques such as the Nine Yin White Bone Claw. Under leaders like Miejue and Zhou Zhiruo, the Emei Order became one of the six orthodox sects that besieged Bright Peak.
