Blackwood Cliff (simplified: 黑木崖, traditional: 黑木崖, pinyin: Hēimù Yá, jyutping: hak1 muk6 ngaai4) was the headquarters of the Sun Moon Holy Order in Laughing in the Wind. The cliff fortress was extremely difficult to access and served as the seat of power for both Ren Woxing and Dongfang Bubai.
Overview
Blackwood Cliff was an impregnable stronghold, reached by a perilous route that made it nearly impossible for outsiders to attack. Ren Woxing ruled the Sun Moon Order from Blackwood Cliff until Dongfang Bubai usurped him and imprisoned him beneath Meizhuang near West Lake.
Dongfang Bubai remained secluded in his private chambers on Blackwood Cliff, rarely emerging. When Ren Woxing, Linghu Chong, Xiang Wentian, and Shangguan Yun came to challenge him, Dongfang Bubai faced them in combat there and nearly prevailed until Ren Yingying intervened.
