Wang Wanyi (simplified: 汪万翼, traditional: 汪萬翼, pinyin: Wāng Wànyì, jyutping: wong1 maan6 jik6) was a third-generation disciple of the Snowy Mountain School and apprentice of Bai Zizai. He participated in the school’s search for Shi Zhongyu and assisted in school administration.
Biography
Training and service
Wang Wanyi was trained in the Snowy Mountain Swordplay by Bai Zizai. As a third-generation disciple, he was part of the “Wan” generation (万字辈) of the Snowy Mountain School, alongside Bai Wanjian, Feng Wanli, Geng Wanzhong, Wang Wanren, Ke Wanjun, Huyan Wanshan, Bao Wanye, and Hua Wanzi.
Search for Shi Zhongyu
After Shi Zhongyu attempted to rape Bai Axiu and fled the Snowy Mountain School, Wang Wanyi participated in the search for him, traveling with Bai Wanjian and other disciples throughout the jianghu.
School administration
During the crisis caused by Bai Zizai’s madness, Wang Wanyi assisted Geng Wanzhong and Huyan Wanshan in handling school affairs when they temporarily acted as zhangmen and city lord. He helped maintain order and stability within the school during this difficult period.
School activities
Wang Wanyi was involved in various school activities and missions, supporting Bai Wanjian and Feng Wanli in their duties. He remained loyal to the Snowy Mountain School throughout the crisis.
