Ling Weifeng

Ling Weifeng

Ling Weifeng (Chinese: 凌未风, pinyin: Líng Wèifēng), known as the “Divine Beam of Tianshan” (天山神芒, Tiānshān Shénmáng), is the leader of the Seven Swords in Liang Yusheng’s Qi Jian Xia Tian Shan (七剑下天山). He is one of the most powerful and respected martial artists in Liang Yusheng’s universe, inheriting the teachings of the monk Huiming Chan Shi (晦明禅师).

Ling Weifeng is a man of action and principle — a warrior who fights for justice against the corrupt Qing Dynasty authorities. His leadership of the Seven Swords makes him a symbol of resistance against oppression.

Appearance and personality

Ling Weifeng is described as a tall, commanding figure with a weathered face that speaks of years of hardship and battle. His eyes are sharp and intelligent, and his bearing is that of a natural leader.

He is a man of few words but deep conviction. When he speaks, people listen. When he acts, people follow. His authority is not based on rank or title but on the respect he has earned through years of courageous leadership.

Ling Weifeng is not without flaws. He can be stubborn and single-minded, and his dedication to his cause sometimes blinds him to the personal cost it exacts on himself and those around him. But his commitment to justice is unwavering, and this is what makes him a true hero.

Background

Ling Weifeng was trained by the monk Huiming Chan Shi, one of the greatest martial arts masters in Liang Yusheng’s universe. Under Huiming’s tutelage, Ling Weifeng mastered the Tianshan sword techniques and developed into one of the most formidable fighters of his generation.

When Huiming Chan Shi passed away, Ling Weifeng inherited his master’s teachings and took on the responsibility of leading the Seven Swords in their fight against Qing Dynasty oppression.

Martial arts

Ling Weifeng’s martial arts are rooted in the Tianshan tradition:

  • Tianshan sword techniques: Ling Weifeng has mastered the sword techniques of the Tianshan school, which are characterised by their speed, precision, and adaptability. His sword style is both elegant and deadly.
  • Internal energy (Neigong): His internal cultivation, developed through years of rigorous training under Huiming Chan Shi, is among the finest in the martial world.
  • Leadership in battle: Ling Weifeng is not just a skilled fighter — he is a skilled commander. He knows how to coordinate his Seven Swords in battle, maximising their combined strength.
