Jiang Tao (simplified: 蒋涛, traditional: 蔣濤, pinyin: Jiǎng Tāo, jyutping: zoeng2 tou4) was a disciple of the Kunlun School who attended the Heavenly Eagle Order’s Wangpan Island gathering and was rendered mentally disabled by Xie Xun’s Lion’s Roar.
Biography
Wangpan Island gathering
Jiang Tao and his fellow disciple Gao Zecheng attended the Heavenly Eagle Order’s Wangpan Island gathering to witness the display of the Dragon Sabre. Both disciples were arrogant and greedy, representing the negative aspects of so-called orthodox martial arts sects.
Encounter with Yin Susu
At the gathering, Jiang Tao and Gao Zecheng attempted to flirt with Yin Susu. She cleverly manipulated them, causing them to fight each other in a desperate struggle. When they realized that Yin Susu was actually close to Zhang Cuishan, they understood they had been deceived.
Lion’s Roar
When Xie Xun arrived and seized the Dragon Sabre, he used his Lion’s Roar technique to incapacitate all those present. Jiang Tao was rendered mentally disabled by the powerful sound attack, becoming permanently demented. He could only repeat the words “Yin Susu” (殷素素) over and over again.
Personality and traits
Jiang Tao was arrogant, greedy, and easily manipulated. He and his fellow disciple Gao Zecheng exemplified the negative aspects of orthodox martial arts practitioners—proud, conceited, and driven by base desires rather than true martial virtue.
