Bai Guishou (simplified: 白龟寿, traditional: 白龜壽, pinyin: Bái Guīshòu, jyutping: baak6 gwai1 sau6) was master of the Black Turtle Altar (玄武坛) of the Heavenly Eagle Order. He excelled in neili and did not rely on weapons. He was the sole survivor of the Wangpan Island battle and the only one who knew the fate of the Dragon-Slaying Sabre, which made him the target of relentless pursuit by martial artists seeking the sabre.

Biography

Heavenly Eagle Order

Bai Guishou served the Heavenly Eagle Order as master of the Black Turtle Altar. He participated in the “Displaying the Sabre and Proclaiming Prestige” gathering on Wangpan Island, where the order displayed the Dragon-Slaying Sabre it had obtained.

Wangpan Island

When Xie Xun, the Golden-Haired Lion King, arrived on Wangpan Island and seized the Dragon-Slaying Sabre, he used his Lion Roar to overwhelm the assembled martial artists. Most were killed or driven mad. Bai Guishou was the only survivor among those who had witnessed the event. Xie Xun then abducted Zhang Cuishan and Yin Susu and set sail, eventually drifting to Ice Fire Island.

Pursuit and death

Because Bai Guishou was the only person in the Central Plains who knew that Xie Xun had taken the sabre and where Zhang Cuishan and Yin Susu had gone, martial artists from across the jianghu sought him out for information. Peng Yingyu of the Ming Order protected him when the Emei disciple Ding Minjun tried to extract the information. Ding Minjun stabbed Peng Yingyu in the eye during the confrontation. Bai Guishou was later killed by Ding Minjun.

Personality and traits

Bai Guishou was loyal to the Heavenly Eagle Order and kept the secret of the Dragon-Slaying Sabre’s fate despite persistent pressure. His death removed the last direct link in the Central Plains to Xie Xun and the sabre’s whereabouts.

Bai Guishou was skilled in neili cultivation and did not rely on weapons in combat.
