Xiang Danian (simplified: 向大年, traditional: 向大年, pinyin: Xiàng Dànián, jyutping: hoeng3 daai6 nin4) was the first disciple of Liu Zhengfeng of the South Hengshan School. He was tragically killed by Ding Mian of the Songshan School during Liu Zhengfeng’s golden basin hand-washing ceremony.

Biography

Early life and training

Xiang Danian was the first disciple of Liu Zhengfeng, learning Hengshan Swordplay and the school’s traditions from his master. He was described as being loyal to his master and dedicated to the school’s principles.
