Characteristics
- The technique is designed to wound rather than kill, reflecting its creators’ merciful nature
- Each move leaves an opening for opponents to escape, showing the technique’s defensive rather than aggressive nature
- Named moves include poetic phrases like “Clear Wind Guides Down from Jade Tower” and “Bright Moon Illuminates the Golden Chamber”

Huyan Eighteen Whip
- Eighteen Whips of Huyan (呼延十八鞭 – Hūyán Shíbā Biān) – Technique attributed to Northern Song general Huyan Zan
- Although called “Eighteen Whip,” only seventeen moves have been passed down
- The most powerful move is “One Whip Breaks Ten Spears” (一鞭断十枪), named after Huyan Zan’s feat of breaking ten spears with one whip strike
Hunyuan Qi
- Hunyuan Qi (混元氣 – Hùnyuán Qì) – Rare neigong technique that can only be practiced by unmarried practitioners
- This technique requires virginity to practice and is lost upon marriage
- Only a few martial artists in the jianghu have mastered this technique
Thirty Heaven-shaking Palms
- Thirty Heaven-shaking Palms (震天三十掌 – Zhèntiān Sānshí Zhǎng) – Signature martial art of Zhuo Tianxiong
- This technique can only be countered by the Hunyuan Qi technique
- Used by Zhuo Tianxiong when fighting Xiao Yi for the Mandarin Duck Blades
