Mai Jing (simplified: 麦鲸, traditional: 麥鯨, pinyin: Mài Jīng, jyutping: mak6 king4) was the leader of the Jujing Guild (巨鲸帮) who attended the Heavenly Eagle Order’s Wangpan Island gathering and was killed by Xie Xun during an underwater competition.

Biography

Background

Mai Jing led the Giant Whale Gang, a maritime organization. His subordinates had committed numerous crimes, including killing dozens of innocent merchants and raping seven women. When Xie Xun exposed these crimes, Mai Jing attempted to save himself by killing all his subordinates, but this did not save him.

Wangpan Island gathering

Mai Jing attended the Heavenly Eagle Order’s Wangpan Island gathering to compete for the Dragon Sabre. When Xie Xun arrived, he challenged Mai Jing to an underwater competition to test their breath-holding abilities.

Underwater competition

Mai Jing and Xie Xun sealed their mouths and noses with wet mud and entered the water. The competition was to see who could hold their breath longer. However, Xie Xun was able to move and fight even with his breathing sealed, demonstrating his superior neili cultivation.

Death

Despite Mai Jing’s attempts to save himself by killing his own subordinates, Xie Xun still killed him. Mai Jing’s death was part of Xie Xun’s rampage at Wangpan Island, where he eliminated all those present who had come to compete for the Dragon Sabre.

Mai Jing was ruthless and willing to sacrifice his own subordinates to save himself. He was a typical villain who allowed his gang to commit terrible crimes and then tried to escape responsibility when exposed.
