Guo Sanquan (simplified: 过三拳, traditional: 過三拳, pinyin: Guò Sānquán, jyutping: gwo3 saam1 kyun4) was the master of the Divine Fist School (神拳门) who attended the Heavenly Eagle Order’s Wangpan Island gathering and was killed by Xie Xun after attempting to attack him while his mouth and nose were sealed.
Biography
Background
Guo Sanquan’s name came from his powerful fist technique—he could kill a bull with a single punch, and ordinary martial artists could not withstand three of his strikes. His reputation was so great that his original name was forgotten. However, despite his fearsome reputation, his actual martial arts were only average.
Crime
Guo Sanquan had committed a terrible crime: he had attempted to rape his own sister-in-law, Cui Feiyan (崔飞烟), and when she resisted, he killed her. This secret was known to Xie Xun, who used it to expose Guo Sanquan.
Wangpan Island gathering
Guo Sanquan attended the Heavenly Eagle Order’s Wangpan Island gathering. When Xie Xun arrived and challenged Mai Jing, the master of the Giant Whale Gang, to an underwater competition, Xie Xun sealed his own mouth and nose with wet mud to prevent breathing.
Attack on Xie Xun
Seeing Xie Xun’s mouth and nose sealed, Guo Sanquan thought he had an advantage and decided to attack while Xie Xun could not breathe or use neili. Xie Xun wrote “Cui Feiyan” (崔飞烟) on the table with wine, revealing Guo Sanquan’s secret and causing him to panic.
Guo Sanquan launched his three most powerful punches: the first, the second, and his ultimate technique “Sweep Away a Thousand Armies, Destroy Ten Thousand Horses” (横扫千军，直摧万马). However, Xie Xun easily deflected all three punches and killed Guo Sanquan with a counterattack that shattered his internal organs.
