Chi Baicheng

Chi Baicheng (simplified: 迟百城, traditional: 遲百城, pinyin: Chí Bǎichéng, jyutping: ci4 baak3 sing4) was the first disciple of Tianmen of the Taishan School. He was known for his loyalty to his master and his tragic death at the hands of Tian Boguang at the Huiyan Tower in Hengshan City.

Biography

Chi Baicheng was trained by Tianmen and became the first disciple of the Taishan School. He was a loyal and principled disciple who followed his master’s teachings.

Death at Huiyan Tower

Chi Baicheng, along with his master Tiansong and other Taishan disciples, pursued Tian Boguang to the Huiyan Tower (回雁楼) in Hengshan City, where Tian Boguang had abducted Yilin of the North Hengshan School.

When Tiansong attempted to rescue Yilin and was injured by Tian Boguang’s swift blade, Chi Baicheng bravely stepped forward to confront the notorious lecher. However, Tian Boguang’s martial arts were far superior, and he killed Chi Baicheng with a single stroke of his blade.

Tianmen, witnessing his first disciple’s death, praised Chi Baicheng’s courage, saying “Very good, very good” (很好,很好), acknowledging his disciple’s righteous stand even in the face of certain death.
