Bu Feiyan (步非烟) has published over 26 novels across multiple series, blending wuxia with fantasy, romance, and Buddhist mythology.
Writing style
Bu Feiyan’s work is characterised by baroque prose, intricate plotting, and a willingness to blend wuxia with elements from fantasy, mystery, and religious philosophy. Her novels frequently incorporate Buddhist cosmology, Indian religious imagery, and detective fiction conventions — creating a syncretic style that distinguishes her from more conventionally Confucian wuxia authors.
