Yuan Shixiao (simplified: 袁士霄, traditional: 袁士霄, pinyin: Yuán Shìxiāo, jyutping: jyun4 si6 siu1) was a martial artist in The Book and the Sword. His nickname, “Strange Hero of Tianchi” (天池怪侠), reflected both his extraordinary abilities and eccentric personality.
Biography
Yuan Shixiao was regarded as the foremost martial artist in the novel. Despite his eccentric and reclusive nature, he was known for his fierce hatred of evil and his clear sense of justice. He made no compromises when it came to right and wrong.
In the 1987 television adaptation, he was portrayed by Guan Haishan.
