Ying Bailuo (simplified: 英白罗, traditional: 英白羅, pinyin: Yīng Báiluó, jyutping: jing1 baak6 lo4) was the eighth disciple of Yue Buqun of the Huashan School. He met a tragic end when he was killed by his own master after witnessing Yue Buqun steal the Evil-Warding Sword Manual.
Biography
Ying Bailuo was trained by Yue Buqun and became the eighth disciple of the Huashan School. He was a loyal disciple who followed his master’s teachings.
Tragic death
Ying Bailuo’s death occurred when he accidentally witnessed Yue Buqun attacking Lin Pingzhi and stealing the Evil-Warding Sword Manual. When Yue Buqun struck Lin Pingzhi with his sword, Lin Pingzhi fell to the ground, feigning death. Ying Bailuo, hearing the commotion, came to investigate and called out “Master!” (师父), recognising Yue Buqun.
This single word sealed his fate. Yue Buqun, realising that Ying Bailuo had witnessed his crime, immediately killed him to prevent him from revealing the truth. Ying Bailuo’s cry of “Master!” had inadvertently saved Lin Pingzhi’s life by alerting Yue Buqun to the presence of a witness, but it cost Ying Bailuo his own life.
