Haisha School (simplified: 海沙派, traditional: 海沙派, pinyin: Hǎishā Pài, jyutping: hoi2 saa1 paai3), meaning “Sea Sand School,” was a martial arts organisation that dealt in illegal salt trading along the Chinese coast. Its members were skilled in group combat, often using fishing nets, iron hooks, and other tools. They used poisoned salt as a weapon, which could paralyze nerves and corrode flesh.
Wangpan Island
Yuan Guangbo, the school’s leader, attended the Heavenly Eagle Order’s Wangpan Island gathering to compete for the Dragon-Slaying Sabre. Xie Xun exposed Yuan Guangbo’s crimes—including the massacre of Zhang Dengyun’s family and the murder of the Hai family—and forced him to eat poisoned salt, killing him.
