Ha Daba (simplified: 哈大霸, traditional: 哈大霸, pinyin: Hā Dàbà, jyutping: haa1 daai6 baa3) was the island master of Tie’ao Island. A powerful martial artist who suffered from the Mark of Life and Death, he became indebted to Xuzhu after being rescued from his suffering.
Biography
Ha Daba was the master of Tie’ao Island. When the Mark of Life and Death in his body activated, he experienced extreme suffering that drove him to desperate actions. The pain was so intense that he attempted to gouge out his own eyes.
Xuzhu successfully intervened to prevent Ha Daba from harming himself, using the “Yangge Tianjun” technique from the Tianshan Six Yang Palm to treat the mark’s effects. After Xuzhu’s treatment, Ha Daba experienced a dramatic recovery and immediately pledged his loyalty to Xuzhu, declaring that his life was saved by the young monk.
Ha Daba was described as having a formidable physical presence, with “iron bowl-like fists” and “palm-leaf-like hands”. His behavior was described as being like a “wounded fierce tiger” when his Mark of Life and Death was active.
