Gao Kexin (simplified: 高克新, traditional: 高克新, pinyin: Gāo Kèxīn, jyutping: gou1 hak1 san1), known as “Golden-haired Lion” (锦毛狮), was a member of the Songshan School’s “Thirteen Taibao of Songshan” (嵩山十三太保) and a junior brother of Zuo Lengchan. He was known for his loyalty to Zuo Lengchan’s ambition to dominate the Five Mountains Sword Alliance.

Gao Kexin was one of Zuo Lengchan’s trusted subordinates, serving as the sixth junior brother among the Thirteen Taibao. He was deeply involved in Zuo Lengchan’s schemes to merge the Five Mountains Sword Alliance under Songshan’s control.
Attempt to steal the Evil-Warding Sword Manual
Gao Kexin, along with Deng Bagong and others, ambushed Yue Lingshan and Lin Pingzhi in an attempt to steal the Evil-Warding Sword Manual. However, Yue Lingshan used advanced sword techniques she had learned from the carvings on Siguo Cliff, which proved superior to their attacks.
Five Mountains Alliance merger
During the Five Mountains Alliance merger ceremony, Gao Kexin, as one of the Thirteen Taibao, participated in various schemes to ensure Songshan’s dominance. He was eventually blinded by Yue Buqun’s Evil-Warding Swordplay during the merger ceremony, suffering a similar fate to many other Songshan masters.
