Chu Liuxiang (楚留香)
The protagonist. Known as the “Fragrant Marshal” (香帅) and the “Thief Marshal” (盗帅), Chu Liuxiang is a legendary thief and martial artist whose exploits rival those of the greatest heroes in the jianghu. He is distinguished by his elegant demeanour, his impeccable sense of justice, and his ability to steal anything without ever leaving a trace. He always carries a faint, pleasant fragrance — the origin of his nickname.

Hu Tiehua (胡铁花)
Chu Liuxiang’s closest friend and drinking companion. A boisterous, loyal martial artist whose straightforward nature contrasts with Chu Liuxiang’s sophistication. Their friendship is one of the emotional centres of the series. Hu Tiehua’s name literally means “Iron Flower Hu.”

Ji Bingyan (姬冰雁)
A cool-headed, calculating strategist and one of Chu Liuxiang’s closest companions. His name means “Ice Wild Goose Ji,” reflecting his cold, analytical nature. Despite his seemingly emotionless exterior, he is deeply loyal to his friends.

A brilliant strategist and one of Chu Liuxiang’s most important allies. She manages much of the logistics behind his adventures and is one of the few people who truly understands him. Beautiful, intelligent, and resourceful.
